Development of Training Modules on Sustainable Interprofessional Bodies for Geographical Indication – and Conducting 4 Trainings in South-east Asia

We developed a training course in 8 modules, including theoretical approach and participatory exercises on the role, structures and economic model of Interprofessional bodies for Geographical Indications.

The modules cover the:

  • introduction to Geographical Indications,
  • the value chain analysis,
  • the various roles of the Interprofessional body:
    • as a forum,
    • as a management centre for specific quality,
    • and as a center for the promotion of the GI)
  • the business model (where the income will come from)
  • and planning

Achievements:

The modules developed in three parts, the theory, the notes for the trainer and the group exercises 1 three case studies – this will be published in Spring 2016 by the FAO.

These modules were also translated by the FAO into Cambodian, Thai, Lao and Vietnamese

Conducting 4 trainings (over 4 or 5 days) in the 4 countries – all in all over 80 participants trained)
